Worth the wait?

Monday morning I met someone at Bagel Boy on Shirley Avenue, just behind Home Depot. I was there at 6:30 or so and was surprised at the traffic at a local gas station.

Then I saw the price: $0.009.

A mistake?

Then I saw police cars. And a two-row line of traffic extending beyond Sonic!

Worth the wait?

The answer to my question yesterday is worth the wait. I'm waiting for yours- email me at pastorwade@livingwordfreelutheran.org if you are trying to leave comments and aren't able to.

Tell me what you're willing to wait two hours for (or, that for which you are willing to wait two hours).

Worth the wait?

What would you wait in line for three hours for?

I know, and I agree with Winston Churchill: "Ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I will not put."

But I just came from a youth Bible camp, so I'm going for grammatical credibility. For you, though, my grammar-checking audience, I'll rephrase:

An old friend

I have more to share from last week's great ministry at Bethany Bible Camp, but this is on my mind today from my quiet time with Jesus. I've mentioned this before, but it's an old friend worth revisiting.

Bethany Bible Camp- precious, eternal human souls

Why does Living Word offer to send her pastor away to do ministry outside her walls a couple times per year? It stems from the conviction that what's good for the kingdom of God is good for Living Word. A rising tide floats all boats.

Bible Camp has its purposes.

One such purpose is reflection.

We all benefit from time to allow God to evaluate the past in our presence. I've had a bit of that time while ministering at Bethany Bible Camp in rural Bemidji, MN.

Considering God's Faithfulness

Psalm 107:43- Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things; let them consider the steadfast love of the LORD.

After two chapters of Psalms where the psalmists reminds the reader of God's faithfulness to Israel, we have this statement. If you're wise, remember these things. Consider the steadfast love of God.

Youth Ministry at Living Word

A new blog category today, matching a file I've kept for over 10 years- "Fruit and Pruning," containing encouragement from ministry results and (sometimes less than) encouraging correspondence regarding ministry gone bad.

Numbering the Commandments

What a great day yesterday at Living Word! I have the benefit of knowing about a lot of good fruit. And we saw some more yesterday.
