Precious and very great promises

What a great verse!

2 Peter 1:3-8, containing.... His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence, by which He has granted to us His precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

This got me thinking- what promises of God do I consider to be "precious and very great?" Do I know them and meditate on them?

So I thought I would ask a question of the hundreds of thousands of regular readers out there: What precious and very great promises are in your mind today- even if you just put them there in response to this blog post reminder?

Go serve your King, the giver of precious and very great promises,

Great promises

I've got two... These promises speak to my heart when I am anxious or fearful (which is much too often). "The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." - Zephaniah 3:17 "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging." - Psalm 46: 1-3

Precious and very great!

Those are great verses, Christine. As I continue the same Bible reading plan from year to year I keep running into certain verses that are precious to me. Those two vereses are what I call "old friends" in my journal.

Thanks for sharing those verses!
