Big news from California today.

Two observations I want you to make:

a) You can learn a lot about how people lose. People with Biblical worldviews have been losing a lot lately, but please don't lose like some folks in California are losing. Do you realize that they have been publicizing names and addresses of people who signed the petition to get Proposition 8 on the ballot? They are implicity encouraging intimidation and retaliation against anyone who would dare claim that marriage is an institution between one man and one woman. Who is "they?" Advocates of "tolerance." Go figure.

b) There is no story here. The California high court had absolutely no option on this case. Proposition 8 was a constitutional amendment. Citing against it would have been a judicial declaration of war on the constitution- and thus the people- of California. 

Finally, "marriages" already in force- some 18,000- will be allowed to stand. And, if it were not for the federal "Defense of Marriage Act," would have to be recognized in South Dakota, too. DoMA is in the sites of many in the Congressional majority, so that protection is shallow at best.
